Okay, so of the 21 specific catagories I predicted I scored just below average, correctly naming winners in ten catagories:
Best New Artist - Carrie Underwood
Best Female Pop Vocal Performance - Christina Aguilera
Best Male Pop Vocal Performance - John Mayer
Best Dance Recording - Justin Timberlake
Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album - Tony Bennett
Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance - Bob Dylan
Best Hard Rock Performance - Wolfmother
Best Rock Song - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Best Rock Album - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Best Musical Album for Children - Dan Zanes And Friends
Here are the ones I missed and who won:
Record of the Year - Dixie Chicks
Album of the Year - Dixie Chicks
Song of the Year - Dixie Chicks
Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group - Black Eyed Peas
Best Pop Collaboration - Tony Bennett
Best Pop Vocal Album - John Mayer
Best Electronic/Dance Album - Madonna
Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Best Metal Performance - Slayer
Best Alternative Album - Gnarls Barkley
Best Rap Album - Ludacris
However, I did make a general prediction that the R&B and Hip Hop catagories would be sharred by Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, T.I. and John Legend, each of whom picked up a Grammy and in MJB's case, three.
I also predicted an upset victory for the newly political Dixie Chicks in the Country catagory where they did pick up the two awards for which they were nominated. The fact that they nabbed the top three awards of the show, Record, Album and Song of the Year simply proves the strength of my upset prediction. Or something.
Oh, and the Colts won by 12, five short of my prediction but if Adam Vinatieri had made the extra point and field goal he missed it would have been a 16 point margin. I'm just saying.
